Our Story

Setting out to introduce Istanbul to the world with its traditions and unique riches, we followed the traces of thousands of years of experience and mastery.

I grew up in a family that values cultural richness, traditions, and customs. Living in a hospitable society, we wanted to reinterpret the values about to be forgotten in our tradition of treats and make them a part of our daily lives. By blending the knowledge and experience inherited from family culture with the spirit of today, we created both familiar and brand new essences and flavors. Hatun Istanbul also represents nobility and elegance.

With changing times, many customs and methods have been replaced by new ones. Despite all this change, some never lost their value. Hatun Istanbul gave a new life today to these special values that give meaning to the past.

I believe that today, the culture of hospitality does not receive the value it deserves. I wanted to revive this unique culture in its most beautiful form and bring it together with our guests through the presentations they deserve.

As the creator of six different fragrance series inspired by different periods and locations of Istanbul—including colognes, perfumes, soaps, room fragrances, and scented candles—we are also assertive with our Turkish coffee and Turkish delights.

We underwent a meticulous research process to bring to light the special formulas passed down from generation to generation along with our treat culture. We researched for a long time the place of Turkish delight, Turkish coffee, and cologne in history, which accompany our most special moments. We conducted serious research on many subjects, such as in which period of history and in what ways they were produced, at what time of the day, and with what kind of presentations they were served.

Our products, in which meticulously selected ingredients are masterfully brought together, also stand out with their stylish designs that interpret the period with a new eye. By reinterpreting the traditional tastes and scents of Ottoman and Turkish culture with a new understanding, we appeal to both your body and soul with the flavors and essences we have created, and we revive the memories of centuries ago in minds.

We value and protect our culture, and aim to introduce Turkish culture to the whole world. By creating a bridge from the past to the future, we want to transfer our values to future generations in the best possible way.

The Most Precious Treat

Turkish delight is one of the oldest dessert recipes in the world. First appearing in Anatolia in the 15th century, it reached the peak of its flavor in the Ottoman palaces in the 18th century, and after the 19th century, it became a highly valued delicacy in Europe and around the world.

With its unique taste, scent, and consistency, Turkish delight has always maintained its value. It was presented to the liking of sultans in palaces, became the favorite treat of holidays, sometimes regarded as a precious gift wrapped in silk handkerchiefs, and sometimes as a token of love between couples. It has become the inseparable sweetener of Turkish coffee, and its reputation has spread to the four corners of the world with both its flavor and healing properties.

Hatun Istanbul Turkish delights were also created by drawing inspiration from the taste and purity of the Ottoman palaces. The highest quality ingredients were used to revive traditional flavors today, and the most exquisite form of Turkish delight was presented to your liking.

Traditional Flavor

Coffee has permeated the culture of every geography it has reached, creating unparalleled traditions wherever it is tasted.

Coffee beans, rumored to have originated in Abyssinia in the 10th century, arrived in Istanbul in the 16th century and became one of the most precious treats of the Ottoman palaces. Shortly after, it transformed into a beverage sipped with great pleasure in every aspect of daily life, from coffeehouses to homes.

Turkish Coffee, one of the oldest known forms of coffee, takes its name from its unique preparation, brewing, and serving style: Raw coffee beans were roasted in large pans, pounded in mortars until they became a fine powder, brewed in cezves (traditional copper pots), served with a glass of water and Turkish delight, and ultimately sipped slowly accompanied by deep conversation. Every stage of coffee harbored a ceremony.

Hatun Istanbul's Turkish Coffee was also created drawing inspiration from this ancient tradition. Prepared faithfully to the traditional methods that give the coffee its unique flavor; the most exquisite form of coffee has been presented to your liking with its scent, consistency, and taste.
